Hadith 261
Ḍaʿīf

Musnad Kaʿb ibn Zayd, or Zayd ibn Kaʿb, al-Anṣārī (may Allah be pleased with him)

Kaʿb ibn Zayd, or Zayd ibn Kaʿb, al-Anṣārī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported, as narrated by Jamīl ibn Zayd, who said: I accompanied an elder of the Anṣār who mentioned that he had been a Companion, called Kaʿb ibn Zayd or Zayd ibn Kaʿb. He told me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ married a woman from Banū Ghifār, and when he ﷺ went in to her, removed his garment, and sat upon the bed, he ﷺ noticed a whiteness on her side. He ﷺ then withdrew from the bed and said, “Put your garment back on,” and he ﷺ took back nothing of what he had given her [as dowry]. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 261

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جَمِيلُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ شَيْخًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ كَعْبُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ أَوْ زَيْدُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي غِفَارٍ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَوَضَعَ ثَوْبَهُ وَقَعَدَ عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ أَبْصَرَ بِكَشْحِهَا بَيَاضًا فَانْحَازَ عَنِ الْفِرَاشِ ثُمَّ قَالَ خُذِي عَلَيْكِ ثِيَابَكِ وَلَمْ يَأْخُذْ مِمَّا آتَاهَا شَيْئًا

Hadith 262
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Usāmah ibn Sharīk, of Kūfah (may Allah be pleased with him)

Usāmah ibn Sharīk (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said: “Seek treatment, servants of Allah, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has not sent down a disease without sending down its cure alongside it, except death and old age.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 262

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ زِيَادٍ يَعْنِي الْمُطَّلِبَ بْنَ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ تَدَاوَوْا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ دَاءً إِلَّا أَنْزَلَ مَعَهُ شِفَاءً إِلَّا الْمَوْتَ وَالْهَرَمَ

Hadith 263
Ḍaʿīf

Musnad Abī Kāhil Qays ibn ʿĀʾidh, counted among the Syrians (may Allah be pleased with him)

Abū Kāhil Qays ibn ʿĀʾidh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ addressing the people upon a she-camel, with an Abyssinian man holding its halter. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 263

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَائِذٍ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ وَحَبَشِيٌّ مُمْسِكٌ بِخِطَامِهَا

Hadith 264
Ḍaʿīf

Musnad al-Rubayyiʿ bint Muʿawwidh ibn ʿAfrāʾ (may Allah be pleased with her)

Al-Rubayyiʿ bint Muʿawwidh ibn ʿAfrāʾ (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn sent me [ʿAbdullāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAqīl] to her to ask about the Messenger of Allah’s ﷺ wuḍūʾ. She brought out a vessel holding roughly one mudd, or a mudd and a quarter, and said, “I would bring him water in this. He would pour it over his hands three times, wash his face three times, rinse his mouth three times, snuff water into his nose three times, wash his right hand three times and his left hand three times, then wipe his head, front to back, then wash his feet three times. A cousin of yours came to me, Ibn ʿAbbās, and asked me the same, and I told him, and he said to me, ‘I find in the Book of Allah only two wipings and two washings.‘” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 264

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ أَرْسَلَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ إِلَى الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذِ ابْنِ عَفْرَاءَ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ وُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَخْرَجَتْ لَهُ إِنَاءً يَكُونُ مُدًّا أَوْ نَحْوَ مُدٍّ وَرُبُعٍ قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أُخْرِجُ إِلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ فِي هَذَا فَيَصُبُّ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا وَيَغْسِلُ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَيُمَضْمِضُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَسْتَنْشِقُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَغْسِلُ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا وَالْيُسْرَى ثَلَاثًا وَيَمْسَحُ بِرَأْسِهِ مُقْبِلًا وَمُدْبِرًا ثُمَّ يَغْسِلُ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا قَدْ جَاءَنِي ابْنُ عَمٍّ لَكَ فَسَأَلَنِي وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ لِي مَا أَجِدُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مَسْحَتَيْنِ وَغَسْلَتَيْنِ

Hadith 265
Ḍaʿīf

Musnad al-Rubayyiʿ bint Muʿawwidh ibn ʿAfrāʾ (may Allah be pleased with her)

Al-Rubayyiʿ bint Muʿawwidh ibn ʿAfrāʾ (may Allah be pleased with her) reported, in answer to a question about fasting on ʿĀshūrāʾ: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, “Who among you began the day fasting?” They said, “Some of us are fasting, some are not.” He ﷺ said, “Then complete the rest of your day, and send word to those around Madīnah that they too should complete the rest of their day.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 265

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الرُّبَيِّعَ بِنْتَ مُعَوِّذِ ابْنِ عَفْرَاءَ عَنْ صَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ فَقَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ مَنْ أَصْبَحَ مِنْكُمْ صَائِمًا قَالُوا مِنَّا الصَّائِمُ وَمِنَّا الْمُفْطِرُ قَالَ فَأَتِمُّوا بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِكُمْ وَأَرْسِلُوا إِلَى مَنْ حَوْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيُتِمُّوا بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِمْ

Hadith 266
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Umm Khālid bint Khālid ibn Saʿīd (may Allah be pleased with her)

Umm Khālid bint Khālid [ibn Saʿīd] (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that she heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 266

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُرَّةَ مُوسَى بْنُ طَارِقٍ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ خَالِدٍ بِنْتِ خَالِدٍ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

Hadith 267
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Umm Khālid bint Khālid ibn Saʿīd (may Allah be pleased with her)

Umm Khālid bint Khālid (may Allah be pleased with her) is reported by Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah, who said, “I never heard anyone else say ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ’ except her”, that she heard the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 267

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ سَمِعَ أُمَّ خَالِدٍ بِنْتَ خَالِدٍ قَالَ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم غَيْرَهَا تَقُولُ سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

Hadith 268
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Umm Hishām bint Ḥārithah ibn al-Nuʿmān (may Allah be pleased with her)

[Umm Hishām bint Ḥārithah ibn al-Nuʿmān] (may Allah be pleased with her), referred to here simply as “a woman of the Anṣār”, reported: “Our oven and the oven of the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ were one and the same, and I only memorized Sūrat Qāf from him, for he ﷺ used to recite it [there, within my hearing].” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 268

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَسْعَدَ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ابْنِ أَخِي عَمْرَةَ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجِيءَ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَتْ كَانَ تَنُّورُنَا وَتَنُّورُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَاحِدًا فَمَا حَفِظْتُ ق إِلَّا مِنْهُ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا

Hadith 269
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad ʿUmārah ibn Ruwaybah al-Thaqafī (may Allah be pleased with him)

ʿUmārah ibn Ruwaybah al-Thaqafī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ say, “No one who prays before sunrise and before sunset will ever enter the Fire.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 269

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عِمَارَةَ بْنِ رُوَيْبَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ لَنْ يَلِجَ النَّارَ أَحَدٌ صَلَّى قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا

Hadith 270
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad ʿUmārah ibn Ruwaybah al-Thaqafī (may Allah be pleased with him)

ʿUmārah ibn Ruwaybah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he saw Bishr ibn Marwān upon the pulpit, raising his hands and gesturing with both index fingers while supplicating, and said, “May Allah curse these two hands, I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ upon the pulpit, supplicating, gesturing with only one finger.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 270

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ رُوَيْبَةَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى بِشْرَ بْنَ مَرْوَانَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ رَافِعًا يَدَيْهِ يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ يَدْعُو فَقَالَ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ هَاتَيْنِ الْيُدَيَّتَيْنِ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَدْعُو وَهُوَ يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعٍ

Hadith 271
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with both of them)

ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported: I never knew the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ to deliberately fast a day seeking its virtue over other days, except the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, and this month, Ramaḍān. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 271

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ مَا عَلِمْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَامَ يَوْمًا يَتَحَرَّى فَضْلَهُ عَلَى الْأَيَّامِ غَيْرَ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ وَهَذَا الشَّهْرَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ

Hadith 272
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with both of them)

ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported: I was among those whom the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ sent ahead on the night of Muzdalifah, among the weaker members of his household. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 272

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ أَنَا مِمَّنْ قَدَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَيْلَةَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ فِي ضَعَفَةِ أَهْلِهِ

Hadith 273
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with both of them)

ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported, through ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Rufayʿ: Shaddād ibn Maʿqil and I went in to see Ibn ʿAbbās, and he said, “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ left behind nothing except what is between these two covers [the Qurʾān].” We then went in to see Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī [ibn Abī Ṭālib], and he said the same. [ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz added:] Al-Mukhtār [ibn Abī ʿUbayd] used to call this “revelation” [claiming secret knowledge for himself]. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 273

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ رُفَيْعٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَشَدَّادُ بْنُ مَعْقِلٍ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ مَا تَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَّا مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ اللَّوْحَيْنِ وَدَخَلْنَا عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ وَكَانَ الْمُخْتَارُ يَقُولُ الْوَحْيُ

Hadith 274
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Abī ʿAsīb, freedman of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ (may Allah be pleased with him)

Abū ʿAsīb, freedman of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ (may Allah be pleased with him), reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said: “Jibrīl came to me with fever and plague; I retained fever in Madīnah and sent the plague to al-Shām. So the plague is martyrdom for my ummah and a mercy [for the believer], but a punishment upon the disbeliever.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 274

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ أَبُو نُصَيْرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَسِيبٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ بِالْحُمَّى وَالطَّاعُونِ فَأَمْسَكْتُ الْحُمَّى بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَأَرْسَلْتُ الطَّاعُونَ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَالطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِأُمَّتِي وَرَحْمَةٌ وَرِجْسٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِ

Hadith 275
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him)

Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said, “Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 275

حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

Hadith 276
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him)

Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ instructed a man from [the tribe of] Aslam to announce to the people on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ: “Whoever is fasting, let him complete his fast; and whoever has eaten, let him eat nothing more and complete his fast.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 276

حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَمَرَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ فِي النَّاسِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ مَنْ كَانَ صَائِمًا فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ أَكَلَ فَلَا يَأْكُلْ شَيْئًا وَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ

Hadith 277
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him)

Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said to a man from Aslam, “Announce to your people”, or “to the people”, on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ: “Whoever has eaten, let him fast the remainder of his day; and whoever has not eaten, let him fast [the whole day].” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 277

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْأَكْوَعِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ أَذِّنْ فِي قَوْمِكَ أَوْ فِي النَّاسِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ مَنْ أَكَلَ فَلْيَصُمْ بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَكَلَ فَلْيَصُمْ

Hadith 278
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him)

Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ ordered his caller, on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, to announce that whoever had eaten in the morning should refrain [from further eating], and whoever had not eaten in the morning should complete his fast. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 278

حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَمَرَ مُنَادِيَهُ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ أَنَّ مَنْ كَانَ اصْطَبَحَ فَلْيُمْسِكْ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَصْطَبِحُ فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ

Hadith 279
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him)

Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he asked the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ for permission to live among the desert-dwelling Bedouin, and he ﷺ granted him permission. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 279

حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ اسْتَأْذَنَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الْبَدْوِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ

Hadith 280
Ṣaḥīḥ

Musnad Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him)

Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ along with the people at al-Ḥudaybiyah, then sat down apart. When the people had dispersed from around the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ, he ﷺ said, “O Ibn al-Akwaʿ, will you not pledge allegiance?” I said, “I have already pledged, O Messenger of Allah.” He ﷺ said, “Do so again.” I asked, “On what did you pledge?” He ﷺ said, “Upon death.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 280

حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَعَ النَّاسِ فِي الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ ثُمَّ قَعَدْتُ مُتَنَحِّيًا فَلَمَّا تَفَرَّقَ النَّاسُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ يَا ابْنَ الْأَكْوَعِ أَلَا تُبَايِعُ قُلْتُ قَدْ بَايَعْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَيْضًا قُلْتُ عَلَامَ بَايَعْتُمْ قَالَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ
