Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (rad):
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If one of you has sexual intercourse with his wife and wishes to repeat he should perform ablution between them” [Reported by Muslim].
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ اَلْخُدْرِيِّ رضى الله عنه قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ أَهْلَهُ ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَعُودَ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ بَيْنَهُمَا وُضُوءًا رَوَاهُ مُسْلِم ٌ 1

A-Hakim added: “Ablution makes one active for repeating (the sexual act).”
زَادَ اَلْحَاكِمُ فَإِنَّهُ أَنْشَطُ لِلْعَوْدِ 1

Narrated ‘Aisha (rad): Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to sleep in the state of sexual impurity without touching water. [Reported by Al-Arba’a. This Hadith is defective].
وَلِلْأَرْبَعَةِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَنَامُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً وَهُوَ مَعْلُول ٌ 1

Narrated ‘Aisha (rad): Whenever Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) took Ghusl (bath) after sexual intercourse, he would begin by washing his hands, then pour water with his right hand on his left hand and wash his sexual organ. He would then perform ablution, then take some water and run his fingers through the roots of the hair. Then he would pour three handfuls on his head, then pour water over the rest of his body and subsequently wash his feet. [Agreed upon and this version is of Muslim]
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا اِغْتَسَلَ مِنْ اَلْجَنَابَةِ يَبْدَأُ فَيَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُفْرِغُ بِيَمِينِهِ عَلَى شِمَالِهِ فَيَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ ثُمَّ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثُمَّ يَأْخُذُ اَلْمَاءَ فَيُدْخِلُ أَصَابِعَهُ فِي أُصُولِ اَلشَّعْرِ ثُمَّ حَفَنَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثَ حَفَنَاتٍ ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ عَلَى سَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُسْلِم ٍ 1

Narrated Maimuma (rad):
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) poured water over his private parts and washed them with his left hand. He then struck his hand against the earth.
وَلَهُمَا فِي حَدِيثِ مَيْمُونَةَ ثُمَّ أَفْرَغَ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ فَغَسَلَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِهَا اَلْأَرْضَ

"And he wiped it with earth".

And in the last of this version: “I handed him a piece of cloth, but he did not take it... He started shaking the water off his hand.”
وَفِي آخِرِهِ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ بِالْمِنْدِيلِ فَرَدَّهُ وَفِيهِ وَجَعَلَ يَنْفُضُ الْمَاءَ بِيَدِهِ 1

Narrated Umm Salamah (RAA):
I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a woman who keeps her hair closely plaited. Do I have to undo them for Ghusl after sexual intercourse?" In another narration, "and after the end of menses?" He replied (ﷺ), "No, is it enough for you to throw three handfuls of water over your head."

وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ إِنِّي اِمْرَأَةٌ أَشُدُّ شَعْرَ رَأْسِي أَفَأَنْقُضُهُ لِغُسْلِ اَلْجَنَابَةِ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ وَالْحَيْضَةِ فَقَالَ لَا إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكِ أَنْ تَحْثِي عَلَى رَأْسِكِ ثَلَاثَ حَثَيَاتٍ رَوَاهُ مُسْلِم ٌ 1

Narrated `A'ishah (RAA):
Allah's messenger (ﷺ) said, "It is not permitted for a menstruating woman or one who is junub (sexually impure) to stay in the mosque."
Related by Abu Dawud and Ibn Khuzaimah graded it as Sahih
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنِّي لَا أُحِلُّ اَلْمَسْجِدَ لِحَائِضٍ وَلَا جُنُبٌ رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ خُزَيْمَة َ 1

Narrated `A'ishah (RAA):
I and Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) took a Ghusl (bath) due to sexual impurity from the same vessel and our hands alternated into it.
[Agreed upon.]
Ibn Hibban added "and (our hands) met."
وَعَنْهَا قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَغْتَسِلُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ تَخْتَلِفُ أَيْدِينَا فِيهِ مِنَ اَلْجَنَابَةِ مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْه ِ 1 زَادَ اِبْنُ حِبَّانَ وَتَلْتَقِ ي 2

Narrated Abu Hurairah (RAA):
Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) said, "There is Janabah (trace of sexual impurity) under every hair, so wash your hair and cleanse the skin."
Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi transmitted it but they declared it to be weak.
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضى الله عنه قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنَّ تَحْتَ كُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ جَنَابَةً فَاغْسِلُوا اَلشَّعْرَ وَأَنْقُوا اَلْبَشَرَ رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَاَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَضَعَّفَاه ُ 1

Ahmad transmitted a similar narration to the above, on the authority of `A'ishah (RAA), but this version has an unknown transmitter.
وَلِأَحْمَدَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ نَحْوُهُ وَفِيهِ رَاوٍ مَجْهُول ٌ 1

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RAA):
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have been given five things which were not given to anyone else before me. Allah made me victorious by awe (of frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month's journey. The earth has been made for me (and my followers) a place for praying and something with which to perform Tayammum (to purify oneself for prayer). Therefore, anyone (of my followers) can pray (anywhere) and at any time that the Salat (prayer) is due."
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ أُعْطِيتُ خَمْسًا لَمْ يُعْطَهُنَّ أَحَدٌ قَبْلِي نُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ مَسِيرَةَ شَهْرٍ وَجُعِلَتْ لِي اَلْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَدْرَكَتْهُ اَلصَّلَاةُ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَذَكَرَ اَلْحَدِيث َ 1

In another narration by Hudhaifah (RAA): "And the soil of the earth had been made for us as a means with which to purify ourselves (for prayer), when we cannot find water."
Related by Muslim.
وَفِي حَدِيثِ حُذَيْفَةَ عِنْدَ مُسْلِمٍ وَجُعِلَتْ تُرْبَتُهَا لَنَا طَهُورًا إِذَا لَمْ نَجِدِ اَلْمَاءَ 1

Ahmad transmitted on the authority of `Ali (RAA): "The earth (dust) has been made for me as a means for purification."
وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ رضى الله عنه عِنْدَ أَحْمَدَ وَجُعِلَ اَلتُّرَابُ لِي طَهُورًا 1

Narrated `Ammar bin Yasir (RAA):
The Prophet (ﷺ) sent me on some errands and I became junub (sexually impure), and could not find water. I rolled myself in the dirt just as an animal does. I then came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and mentioned that to him. He said, "This would have been enough for you," and he struck the earth with his hands once, then he wiped the right hand with the left one, and the outside of the palms of his hands and his face.
[Agreed upon. The wording is that of Muslim's].
وَعَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ بَعَثَنِي اَلنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي حَاجَةٍ فَأَجْنَبْتُ فَلَمْ أَجِدِ اَلْمَاءَ فَتَمَرَّغْتُ فِي اَلصَّعِيدِ كَمَا تَمَرَّغُ اَلدَّابَّةُ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ اَلنَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَكْفِيكَ أَنْ تَقُولَ بِيَدَيْكَ هَكَذَا ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بِيَدَيْهِ اَلْأَرْضَ ضَرْبَةً وَاحِدَةً ثُمَّ مَسَحَ اَلشِّمَالَ عَلَى اَلْيَمِينِ وَظَاهِرَ كَفَّيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُسْلِم ٍ 1

In a version by Al-Bukhari, `Ammar said: 'He (ﷺ) struck the earth with the palms of his hands, blew in them and wiped his face and hands with them.
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ لِلْبُخَارِيِّ وَضَرَبَ بِكَفَّيْهِ اَلْأَرْضَ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِمَا ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَكَفَّيْه ِ 1

Narrated Ibn `Umar (RAA):
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Tayammum is two strikes: one for the face and one for the hands up to the elbows."
Reported by Ad-Daraqutni
وَعَنِ اِبْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم التَّيَمُّمُ ضَرْبَتَانِ ضَرْبَةٌ لِلْوَجْهِ وَضَرْبَةٌ لِلْيَدَيْنِ إِلَى اَلْمِرْفَقَيْنِ رَوَاهُ اَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ وَصَحَّحَ اَلْأَئِمَّةُ وَقْفَه ُ 1

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The soil is a purifier for a Muslim, even if he does not find water for ten years; but if he finds water, he must fear Allah and let it touch his skin."
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضى الله عنه قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم اَلصَّعِيدُ وُضُوءُ اَلْمُسْلِمِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ اَلْمَاءَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ فَإِذَا وَجَدَ اَلْمَاءَ فَلْيَتَّقِ اَللَّهَ وَلْيُمِسَّهُ بَشَرَتَهُ رَوَاهُ اَلْبَزَّارُ وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ اَلْقَطَّانِ ]و] لَكِنْ صَوَّبَ اَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ إِرْسَالَه ُ 1
